Yay for Olympic tennis. Federer and Murray in the gold medal match, a rematch of Wimbledon. My two fave players will be walking out of there with the top two medals, so it's win-win for me! It better be covered on TV!

why is it then that commentators are commenting on the fact Phelps can have his favourite dessert soon. yeah, michelle smith got a ban for using illegal substance, but her medals were never taken away. as much as i like to give the chinese the benefit of the doubt here, i've always been a little suspicious, which is rather sad to be honest Sunny - I don't know about the sports commentators in Ireland but here in America ours aren't exactly known for doing research and/or being the sharpest tool in the shed, if you know I what I mean. Anyway, below is a copy of an article from the 2008 Olympics that basically outlines what Michael Phelps eats in a day. Here we don't have that problem all the commentators know what they are talking about & all do research. There is one commentator here that has been on air/tv for over 30 years he can answer anything you throw at him even from 30 years ago...he even did research on previous Olympics (before he was born ) & knows all the stats......They all do a great job......

our commentators (the irish) have a case of foot and mouth at times, aka, one commentator mentioned that badminton used to be a sports mainly played by Protestants. i think there's a been a few more along those lines. but other than the bloopers, our commentators are grand, not bbc standard, but than again our irish t.v has always been the poor man's version of what ever england are up too.

probably one of my favourite pictures of the Olympics i just love how even though there in a family who can be soo wooden at times and unemotional, these two can be loving and caring towards one another.

Me too. They're the breath of fresh air that we thought Charles and Diana might become. Charles just couldn't bust loose though, no matter how cool Diana was. I'm glad you posted the picture, it's actually even more spectacular now you've got me thinking about it.

Very refreshing and nice to see!
