So its that time of year again. What plans if any do you all have for the Christmas Holidays? I have my works Christmas party this week and then we finish for the Holidays at lunch time on the 21st until the 2nd of January. We have the whole family at our house for Christmas Day , the other half is cooking a shoulder of lamb and a turkey so I will not be able to moves after lunch. I am hoping that they will all go home before 9.00pm so that I can watch Downton Abbey in peace with a nice glass of wine and some chocolate . For the rest of the holidays I intend to do lots of dog walking and horse riding as well as some down time doing not a lot .

Great thread, gbird. I'm taking most of next week off (using up my remaining vacation days) except for the two days when we are having work Christmas parties. Visiting with parents for a few days to celebrate Christmas and stuff myself with Mom's cooking, then back home to relax and get caught up with a few chores I've been neglecting. I am so looking forward to the break. It's been a busy, stressful year, and will continue to be so in January.

Son comes home from the Air Force, other coming from out-of-town for Christmas. We will be happy to see both.
Wait a minute.... if it's Jesus' birthday, then why am I buying presents for everyone else?

Thank you, Sunny. We are looking forward to seeing both of the boys. Miss them a lot, and seeing them is all we want for Christmas.
Hope you get to get away for Christmas, go some place fun,... easier said with $$, though.

Will be spending it at home, opening up my lab for the kids to work on their projects in the days between Christmas and New Year's. I almost plan to sleep through Christmas and New Years. I am sure that fixit projects will appear instead.

Since Hurricane Sandy, I've felt like I've never been able to catch up from that week when I wasn't able to live at home. Been rushing ever since but things seem to be slowing down a bit. Looking forward to our son coming home from college on Saturday... and all of our daughter's college applications are done and out! Thank goodness for the Common Application! Going to have a quiet Christmas vacation - having everyone home is everything I want... and need. Tree goes up Sunday and then I can't wait to start baking next week! Going to attempt a Buche de Noel for Christmas Eve. This will either work out or be a royal disaster!

I kinda started the holiday activities at our department holiday party this past Friday ... where I won tickets to see the Atlanta Ballet's Nutcracker! So looking forward to that! But the day after that, I was traveling out-of-state to see my niece dance in ... The Nutcracker. She danced the role of Dew Drop in Waltz of the Flowers and was amazing! It was, of course, an amateur dance group with guest artists dancing the Prince and the Sugar Plum Fairy but I think she held her own even with the pros. Partial??? No not me!
I'll be going out of town the Sunday before Christmas and returning on Christmas day because that's all the time I'll have off and I want to go where family is. I'll be able to see my favorite nephew for the first time in a few years as he moved out into the Great Plains to teach but this is his and his wife's year to spend Christmas with his family rather than hers or at home.
Still haven't finished my Christmas shopping but I think it's just a couple gift cards and a book or a calendar for my brother-in-law.
Whatever y'all celebrate, I hope you have a wonderful holiday!

Reading this brought back memories of my daughter dancing in the Chronicles of Narnia for Christmas. But I'll be darned if I can remember the name of the character, it's just been way too many years since then.

Here's a question for everyone to think about while you're out doing your last minute Christmas shopping.... what do you think our Five-0 characters would get for each other?
This question originally came to mind because of a relative that is hard to buy for, so it got me to wondering, 'What would Kono get for Adam?', since the guy is rich enough to buy anything he wants anyway.
