Well, we're in the death slot. Doubtful that there will be a fifth season. Edit: I found this: "On Friday, CBS moves an established drama to the middle of the lineup to strengthen a winning night. At 8:00 PM, the Emmy Award-winning and time period leader UNDERCOVER BOSS returns. The popular drama HAWAII FIVE-0 establishes a new beachhead at 9:00 PM, leading perfectly into BLUE BLOODS, the top-rated series of the night, at 10:00 PM." I looked up the ratings for Blue Bloods and Undercover Boss. Undercover Boss has been getting around 6 million recently but Blue Bloods has been getting 10 million. But they're both lacking in the demo with around 1.1 regularly... Let's hope the current fans continue to watch it live and maybe some fans of Undercover Boss and Blue Bloods will start watching it. Has there ever been a show that got moved from the Friday slot?

So, does that mean once they have their quota of episodes for syndication, they'll just quietly let it die on Friday? I'm not sure how well it will play with the older skewing Friday night audience (although my senior citizen parents do enjoy watching H50).
On a different note: my Tuesdays will be busy. S.H.I.E.L.D, NCIS:LA and Person of Interest all on the same night.

I can't believe they're really moving it to Fridays... If they're planning on just cancelling it after it reaches the threshhold for syndication, it means buying out both Alex's and Scott's contracts or finding them somthing else., doesn't it?

I hope our HF-0 fares well against the new show it will be up against. So now we know it will be up against Grimm on NBC - which I am a huge fan of. I was worried that both Grimm and Touch were gone from Friday, and I'd have nothing to watch, but the Grimm move is only temporary. Historically it hasn't been pulling in the big numbers either, so it will be interesting to see what it does against H50.

*sneaks in* Hey, all...I heard the news today and I wanted to see what everyone was thinking. Or should I say, if everyone was as worried as I am. My first instinct/reaction is that this isn't a super good move. In the past we've talked about the 10pm Tuesday night slot being a good move, but that was all theoretical, and I wasn't expecting a move at all. And I certainly wasn't expecting a move to Friday. This doesn't look good, to me. I am happy that we already have the green light for next season, but season 5 isn't looking so good...and I hate to be pessimistic about it. Blue Bloods gets pretty decent numbers it looks like. But H50 is the lead-in for them, so I don't know how much of a help that will be. We don't have to compete with Castle on Monday, which is good. I'm still worried though. I get the feeling that CBS is going to let it die off....

I'm hoping that Blue Bloods will bring an audience to H5-0----sort of a reverse lead in.......who knows?.......Time will tell.

Blue Bloods has done fairly well and I think H5o is a good match. I don't think it is a death sentence but I doubt we are going to get a season 5 no matter what day the show is on.

Everyone always says that Friday's is the dreaded 'death slot', but things have changed.... we can DVR/record sows, watch them OnDemand, or even online. It doesn't have to be the 'death slot' anymore.
I am excited to see that it is paired with Blue Bloods. They are both crime dramas and it makes more sense than being slotted next to a comedy.

cookiejar... why do you think there may not be a season 5?

I guess my concern is that while the way people watch TV has changed, the way the networks collect and tabulate ratings hasn't. They really need to join the 21st century. Also, I don't trust CBS not to cut and run when they've reached 5-0's episode minimum for syndication.
