Well, this one was nicely convoluted and full of goodies. Will we ever see Adam again? I was shocked that Billy's gone. I know I'd said somewhere that we'd have to put up with the ghastly love triangle until Cath left or Billy got dead... but I didn't expect it to happen this soon. Even for H50, Billy's subplot was really short. But I can't say I'm sorry that the triangle is kaput. Dementoid Doris on the other hand, will be around even when she's gone. So who put the slip of paper in the tape recorder? I can't believe it was McDaddy - I mean, how many people have been through the contents of the damn Champ Box??? And welcome back Champ Box! So did Dementoid put it there or what? Joe's back, with new chin foliage, and old "keeping secrets from Steve for his own good" habits. I can't make up my mind if I like Joe or not. But he sings nice. Steve in uniform is always a nice way to close off an episode.

Going to throw a couple of thoughts out here before I hit the road.....
I like that they are keeping Kono in the mix....although I am wondering if we will see Adam again. Way not enough Danny in this one...I understand he was in LA for something...The car ride with Joe was a little weird. I feel like it was waaaay to early to off Billy. They never really got the whole "love triangle" thing going...I was expecting a knock down drag 'em out between Billy and Steve--since they go way back with the SEALs. Joe being back --sigh--again he wants to avoid giving Steve too much info-to protect him...And who is this person he was talking to about the off shore accounts? And whose accounts are they? And no one ever thought to look in the battery compartment of the the tape player that was in the Champ box? I would have thought everything was gone over with a fine tooth comb by now. So--Doris is active with the CIA again. Hmmmmmmm.
That is all I have for now....more later.

How about this may be Billy will be a bigger threat to Steve dead than alive because Cath could romanticize a dead guy and think what could have been. This could cause problems and jealously with Steve.

Bad Continuity: Steve and Catherine are outside the bathroom door of Jason Kroll. He shoots at them after they say who they are. Steve states: "He's armed." Cath. replies: "You think!" Well Steve reaches the door knob and turns it, the DOOR HAS NO HOLES! It opens and we see Jason Kroll on the floor. We look up and see the 3 bullet holes back in the door. How can they fly by Cath. and Steve from that angle if Kroll is on the floor? Did he fall after shooting? And why were they not in door when Steve opened it? No word on Fong, still!!?? Max tell us what's up? Maybe he don't have Kono to play off from but he could still do his job. Or let us know he is in recovery? Not much of Danny today. He had been with Gracie. But the drive in the old Toyota Landcruiser with Joe White was fun. Danny complaining about the ride. Joe commenting, "Is that what you and Steve do? Bicker in the car like and old married couple??" Hilarious! Joe wanting Danno to tell Steve to back off on Doris's where abouts was funny too. Danny saying he will tell Steve, and he will say ok and go do whatever he wants. Danny did ok Joe finding out what is up with Doris. But we see Joe breaks into Steve's garage and goes to the neglected Champ Box and listens to the tape player. Then pulling the battery compartment cover off finds a list of numbers. No one found that before? Steve, Mary or whoever took the contents, then mailed them back to Steve? Joe talked to Sam about the off shore account numbers. I didn't get the whole story since my son was telling me something same time it was on. But Joe told Steve that Doris was off the radar for awhile. Must be reason Doris hasn't been helping Kono and Adam. But when the Joe stint comes back to bite him, Danny can say he oked it. Maybe not all that Joe did, but at least his inquiring about Doris. Adam giving himself up was a strange thing to do. Yes he thinks he is protecting Kono, but does he really think she will just go home??? Will we see her try to save him alone, with Hong Kong PD, or Steve and 5-0 come to her rescue? Billy and Catherine on surveillance of a cheating husband, John Cutler with Abby Maxwell. Then a man comes and shoots Cutler. Billy and Cath. shoot back, both hit. Sure they didn't know shooter(Jason Kroll)was a hired killer, but they didn't take cover very well as they returned fire. With the training they had, especially Billy he should have used much more cover. Must be to that Cath. called 911 or hospital ahead of time. She drove in and they had a gurney out and ready for Billy. HPD at least wasn't there to interview her? I do know she fainted from her own injury but? But Steve was there and I was surprised Billy was gone. Guess that ends the speculation that him and Cath. would be a "thing" again. Danny and Steve can rest. Cute Steve laying on the bed by her as they woke. But Catherine removing her IV etc, to go to the crime scene?? Then Steve didn't believe her? H. on CSI:Miami, or Jim Brass on CSI would have. CSU, spray that floor with luminal, and you can tell wall was repainted. To me it would have been better to have Chin/Danno and HPD check it out or something and call Steve that nothing was found. Then Cath. goes all out to check it on her own. When they first talked to Abby Maxwell about her services, then Andrew Burns did act funny. He hired Kroll to convince Abby to give up the service. The wife, Sandra, didn't make me think she was behind it. The clean up crew owner Lee Brenner, had me thinking it was him, but mostly because he(actor) has played bad guys before. I felt bad for Billy's parents after the ceremony. Nice that Cath. went to talk to his father, Tom. Steve felt bad, but I didn't see it as much as I did in Cath.

After Chin's "You said you'd protect her. Now do it!" to Adam last week, I wasn't surprised that Adam did what he did. Have long suspected they will kill him off while he and Kono are on the run, but hopefully it's not time yet. Hopefully Kono will find and save him, 'cause that would give us lots more good kick-ass moments from her.
Also assumed they would be killing off Billy, but did not expect it this soon. Definitely could have lived without hearing Catherine suggesting he use one of the empty bottles. Am now wondering what she will do for work. Either go back in the Navy, or resume the private security firm Billy started. Probably the latter.
Thought the twists and turns in the case were good. Much better than the last 2 episodes.
Not surprised McMommy is active again. At least it explains why she ditched Kono & Adam right away.
It wasn't that long ago that Joe was in Montana. So, how did that beat up old vehicle of his get to Hawaii with him? Better question; why would anyone bring a beat up old vehicle to Hawaii with them? Sounds like Joe is giving Steve the same old answers as before.

Billy was clearly just a plot device to give Cath a reason for leaving the Navy. However, if that was all then I don't see why they had to kill him off - they could have carried on working together. So maybe they want Cath jobless for a reason, perhaps so that she can join 5-0?

I'm thinking that Cath will now join 5-0. She has tech and intelligence skills to help with behind the scenes stuff. Although the writers and Lenkov seem to like her out in the field with a gun.........

As much as I like Catherine's role kept separate from Five-0, it's better that she temporarily join while Kono is away than to bring in someone totally new. At least we have heard that Grace Park is to return mid-season and it's only temporary.

Unfortunately, I found myself fast-forwarding through this episode; something I haven't don't since the second season. I'm hoping Catherine's role has been expanded because of Kono's absence and when she returns, Catherine will go back to being more like Max; there if needed - not there if not needed. And things will focus more on the core 4 again.
So far it seems as if Catherine, her problems, and being put in danger have been the focus of the show, and that's not what I watch this show for. I'm sorry I'm so negative, but this is how I really feel; that the show seems to be going down the wrong path and straying from what made it so good in the first place.

How does Catherine knows where Culter's blood is if she never been in or saw the inside of the house at the night of the crime?

I think they just said he was in Montana. I kinda figured the old car was one he'd kept somewhere in Hawaii ... maybe he kept his apartment as a base in Hawaii because he knew he'd be back because of Steve and Doris. I agree that shipping that car from Montana would have been ridiculous.
