Not a great episode, but the humour was great. - Space 5-0? - How come S1 Danno had no problem ordering a fake tree and now we discover the Williams family does not do fake trees? - Shouldn't it be Steve who knows all the island do's and dont's, and shouldn't he be the first one to not violate a Hawaiian preserve? - The Crhis-gument was good, though. - Danno's come a long way - he called Hawaii "A beautiful island". Guess Hawaii really is home now. - Max and Sanjeet broke me up. - Wild, Wild Hawaii. - no need for Danno to give chase (though it was an excellent chase) when Cowgirl Kono is around. Although I really thought she was going to lasso the guy. Love when those two work together. - oh, my goodness, Max swore. - So I guess there will be no more Santa Danno? - that's one suspect they didn't have to chase. - Love how McGarrett and Danno just blend in so much with the rest of possible tree-thieves. They don't stand out at all. - Book 'hm Danno, for attempted equine murder! - Good horse stories always make me sappy. But I can't believe none of the 5-0s got to ride. - There were Janice Rand dolls made? - Figures the fight between Max and Sanjeet was a classic geek fight. I did enjoy these two, but more when they were fighting. - Danno's Christmas parties are getting bigger and bigger. Good thing he got a bigger house. - Enjoyed the whole tree-stealing plot, right down to the end.

The summery lied. McGarrett stole the Christmas tree I can't tell if you're disappointed by that ... or outraged that the summary would lie to us ... or just stating a fact. I'm not sure it really matters who had the chainsaw in their hands; Danny admitted that Steve made him an accomplice to a crime which made them equally as guilty. Overall ... I liked the crime / mystery of the week. It was different ... and it was nice to see it in a different location. To me the Max storyline shows what's wrong with having so many 'regulars' on the show. When Max is reduced to arguing over a Star Trek action figure, I have to again think the credits are getting a bit crowded. I thought that was the weakest part of this episode. However, I do understand it's the Christmas episode and they probably didn't want to get too gruesome ... and they wanted to keep it light-hearted. But I was glad I DVR'd it because I fast-forwarded as soon as I realized that Max recognized the shape of the package and it hit me what was inside. I couldn't believe the whole thing was over an action figure. I did think it was kinda neat that Kono and Danny got to team up and I liked their conversation about kids and Santa given that they're the two most recent parents in real life. But OMG! that horse was beautiful and I loved the payoff when it recognized it's former trainer / owner (which one?) and came racing towards him.

OK--I just finished watching....I had to miss it last night because I had a technical dress rehearsal for today's concerts. I did enjoy this episode--it was lighthearted fluff--but this was the Christmas ep. I enjoyed the crime of the week.....a nice who done it. The horse was beautiful. The sub plot with Steve and Danny stealing a tree was entertaining. But, really-Steve would NOT steal a tree from a nature reserve. He has too much respect for his home state to do that. And really--those were fake trees --not Colorado blue spruce-as the Christmas tree lot owner was trying to tell Danny and Steve. The tree they stole from the Preserve was some fakey tropical tree. Would have liked to see Pua actually haul McDanno in to be interrogated over their crime--they could have fleshed this plot line out a bit. The other sub plot between Max and Sanjeet--- I could have done without. But, for whatever reason, Alex wasn't available for a lot of screen time in this ep--so they had to add another subplot. Anyways--it was enjoyable and some nice scenic shots of the Big Island...always nice to see.

I liked this episode. It would have been better if there had been a little more Steve. This was when Alex took a break end of September beginning of October and was in Japan

An OK episode for me. I agree, it bothered me that Steve and Danny would even consider poaching a tree from a park, seemed out of character, although I enjoyed Pua's role in solving that crime. Nice to see more of Max, and the actor playing Sanjeet did a nice job. Loved the scenery from the Big Island, so different from what we've seen so far.

This was easily the worst episode this season so far. The worst Christmas episode in 5 seasons I think season 1 was the best.
Officer Pua Kai is indeed kind of creepy and always around the team. I was wondering if he is going to cause trouble for Five 0 like harm one of the team like Kono. Way too much of Max my least favourite character I find him boring and not funny at all. The crime of the week was weak but glad the horse was saved. Not enough of Steve missed having him around. I know Alex had some time off and went to japan and had a good time with his mates. I am glad they let Alex have time off.

Very cool episode. Certainly better than the Christmas episode of season 3. In the current season better than the episodes: 5x02 and 5x08, perhaps even an episode 5x05. Nice thread with Max, and the Christmas tree. Most of the episode was on the Big Island, and the case was also pretty good. Besides humor, a lot of scenes of Danny & Kono.

The Mars Rover "Pilgrim"(John Wayne reference?) and the Astronaut Richard Royce, finding the Cowboy Keone Maka, on the Lunar surface was funny. I did notice that the CPR would not have helped much. But atleast he did try.
I liked the "Old Style" H50 music that played when the team landed in the helicopter at the crime scene. Also like all the scenes of the island as they flew over. The snow on the mountain by the observatory threw me. Really there's snow on the Hawaiian mountain?? Snow board down to surf, lol
$750.00 for a decent Christmas tree?? Should have bought the "Charlie Brown" ones or as Steve said, buy artificial. Steve with his new looking chain saw cut a tree in a reserve. Then Officer Pua Kai found pine pitch(or was it palm pitch) on the roof of Dano's Camaro? Why not use Steve's truck? Or is it still in the shop? Then the lady witness that pointed out Steve and Danny called then howlies. But his collection of faces to choose from didn't give them much of a chance of getting misidentified. When he finally tracked them down at Danno's, it was cute that his 1200(?) dollar fine and tree confiscating would wait for the next day. Surprised that Duke didn't intervene. Rachel probably will be back for Christmas.
Kono was driving Danny some of the time. I liked his talk to her about Grace growing up. Grover would know that part with his own daughter. I'm glad she had a good time with the gang at the house. Kamekona and Flippa sang well. The whole house did. Liked that a lot. But Kamekona didn't cater it?
When Kono, Danno, and Grover met Al Mokuau, and Jill Kuikahi at the Rodeo, I actually thought she had something to do with the horse and the murder. I did like later when Al was going to kill the horse that I think Grover was the one who wounded him. Then he screamed for an ambulance. Also Kono talking about her rope skills should have foretold that she would take down ranch hand Luke Pakele. She set a new record on tying him up. Watch out Adam, lol. After Luke was let off the hook, I figured it was either Al or Jill, or both. But his story that he was helping the horse and that the owners were paid and didn't care all melted away upon that reunion.
Was nice that we had more Kono, Danny, Max and Grover! But Cho didn't leave HQ and Steve had meetings with the Governor.
Here is Janice, Janice Rand - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia, Max and Dr. Sanjeet Dhawan were funny fighting and disagreeing with each others discoveries. It was good that Max didn't know it all and Sanjeet was wrong always like on some shows. "I will always be your friend", Max said in his best "Dieing Spock" voice. " Live long and prosper." was nice. Also Grover calling it a doll, instead of action figure was funny. I figured he wouldn't, "get it".
I had tears in my eyes when Jeff Harrison and Urban Myth got together in the corral. it was nice to have Detective Dean Alawa with Danny, Kono and Grover at the reuniting. To many times on these types of shows the local cops are pushed aside so the team stars.
No Duke(later saw him in a picture at party on CBS.com), Fong, Jerry, or Grover's family at Danny's party. I know not all members go to all get togethers. Also Steve's new friend, Ellie Clayton, she wasn't there.

I was watching in the window, and didn't see the Sleigh. Think I thought a bird flew. I will have to watch the end again. None of the other 4 forum threads I read said anything about Santa and his sleigh.
Re-watched end and saw it.

I forgot to mention that I liked Danny and Kono working together and their little talk in the car about Christmas and grace.
