No, this is not going to be a list of things that make you go eek. It's more of a description of things that make you go WTH?
So, I have to take off from work today, to go to court. Yep. Not cool. Why do I have to go to court? Because one of my former students punched me so hard, that I ended up with a bone bruise. My saving grace: I wanted to make him part of the wall but I didn't, because if I did, then it would be me getting fired, instead of him getting a JPO officer. His parents are supporting him, stating that I wouldn't let him do what he wanted, so I deserved it.
What did he want so badly that he was willing to assault a staff member for it? He wanted to work with explosives.
I am officially scared for the future.

holy shiznit....I'm actually going to school for my teaching degree, granted I'm not going to be in the science field, but still. I hear parents are worse then the kids. Always making up excuses for their kids. But I mean, missing homework is one thing, working with explosives.... I am SO sorry darksea, hope everything works out for you. How's that bruised bone of yours? How long ago did this happen? My word...

He wanted to blow things up, you wouldn't let him, so he punches a teacher? Has this kid been arrested and put under psychiatric watch? And you wonder why people turn out bad. Catch them when you see the signs, you idiots!!!!!!! While you're at it, have the parents' heads examined too.!

It happened almost a month ago, and I still have the mark on my arm. He was aiming for my face, but the kid is kinda short, so I saw it coming and deflected it with my shoulder. Parents really can be worse than the kids in some cases. The kid stabbed his older brother in the side with a screwdriver and the parents shrugged it off.
And the school? They basically just let the Cops use a room to tell the kid he was in trouble, that was pretty well it.

Oh.my.God. *shakes head* I just don't get parents...maybe they're just as crazy as the kid is. Damn genes.

I'd like to think the future wasn't any more scary than it was when it produced Columbine, but I really don't know. I can't even imagine what you'll tell us when you get back from court. I hope the judge has the balls to at least to not let the parents off the hook.
Are you okay with him being on the loose? Has he threatened you since then? Geez, darksea, this is News, or should be. I'm so sorry.

The school would be within its rights to expel him, if he attacked a staff member. And if on top of it, he stabbed his brother, he is dangerous and shouldn't be around good kids. Hope he gets the help he needs. His parents sure aren't offering him any.

OMG! That is horrible. I hope the kid gets what he deserves. I am so fearful of this next generation. All I hear are horror stories from teachers. It shocks me that parents are oblivious to what their kids are doing. The am always snooping on mine. Privacy? they don't get any until they go off to college and even then I am sure I will find a way to snoop. I hope it all turns out ok for you.

That is one scary and shocking story Darksea!
I really hope you are well. I do hope that the kid (and his parents) gets professional help. The kid as well as his parents are in need of that. Definitely!
Your school didn't stand up for you? That is the even greater shame, as you must feel doubted by them. Are they are afraid of suing or what? It's like an invitation for other kids. What did the other teachers say? No riot?

Geez, darksea - I am so sorry. Makes it less fun to go to work some days. I worked in an elementary school (private, at that) and it's unbelievable what parents will do to 'protect' their little angels! They never see anything wrong and if they do, it's just 'kids being kids'. I don't think so!

Hey DarkSea- That awful, no one should should have endure being threatened and assaulted. That is just not right and to have the parent uphold it is just abhorrent. Let us know that you are okay, once you get done with court.

Darksea, you are a very brave and strong woman. I feel badly that you have had to and continue to have to face an horrendous ordeal. I know you will rise above it, and probably even find a way to use it for the good in the future. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Please stay safe and keep us updated!

I agree that the parents should have their heads examined as well. The kid should never be allowed around explosives, or any chemicals for that matter (which he could have thrown instead of a fist). Please keep us updated, darksea.
