Oh, we are so dull at New Year's, we will probably stay home with some nice food and a bottle of fizz and watch a couple of films back to back. We have two very small children, so planning anything major has to be practically a military operation, and frankly is just not going to happen. I used to go out on New Year's Eve and then have to go to my parents' for open house on New Year's Day with a stonking hangover. That was before I was old, though . And the millennium... now THAT was a party...

We'll probably stay home and watch the festivities from Times Square on TV - its warmer and safer that way!
Our son will be settling in at his study abroad in Beijing(he's leaving 12/27) so I'm sure we'll be skyping with him at some point as well. New Years' Day for my family is always a relaxing day, ordering takeout for dinner. This year we're off on January 2 as well so it's nice to have an extra day before heading back into work.

My birthday falls between Christmas and New Year, so we always go away for my birthday and New Year. This year we're doing what we've done for the last few years, going to North Wales with some old friends. They have a holiday house (an old farmhouse) in the middle of nowhere which is very basic - well, it has a breadmaker and broadband Internet access, but no TV and no heating other than an open fire in the living room. We'll do lots of walking along beaches and climbing mountains, and eat *extremely* well. It's my reward for being saintly in my patience and tolerance of the extended family over Christmas...

Our friends got engaged over Christmas so I think they are having a party to celebrate, which will be a nice way to bring in the New Year. I hope that everybody has fun whatever they do.

We've been invited to a party with extended family, but I don't think we'll go. My hubby and I like to stay home with our children and have a family night. Some years we've had a slumber party out in the living room waiting for the ball drop on TV. The kids love staying up late with us. Other years we just played game after game setting up kind of a tournament. We've also had a movie marathon with popcorn and chocolate. I ate the chocolate. The kids love having a night that they get to plan and have the say.

I am going to have a quiet new years eve.....going to go out for an early dinner than home infront of the tv with some wine and snacks.....My Christmas day was something I will never forget....we were all enjoying ourselves when all of a sudden around four in the afternoon the sky opened up and there was a Hail storm like no other the hail were the size of cricket balls and at first it was like a machine gun going off.....To top it off all of our cars were damaged they are basically being written off so I am not happy as I will be without a car.....At least nobody got hurt but on the news there were people who had bruises on them....We were lucky we made it into the house quickly grabbing the kids and just running indoors......
So new years eve will be a peaceful one but a HOT one as our temperatures are on the rise....
To all of you have a Happy New Years Eve....May it be filled with love, laughter, joy & the making of new & precious memories to a great start for 2012......
BE SAFE.....

meh, new years eve. never ever venture into the city, full of drunken idiots and there usually fighting going on, so stay at home usually, but then again that's usually because i'm sick with a cold or an ear infection, which is the case at this time.
anyway any new year being able to spent it with my mum and my dad is always a good new year
