All the happy new year wishes are so nice to hear but listening to how hard this year has been for some of you has me hurting for you. For some, 2011 has been a year with devastating moments that has changed your lives forever, or it's been a year with just a lot of punches that has made you feel beat up. My dear friends, I want to help you when you need it. My computer has opened a whole new world to me this year, but it also keeps me at arms length from the people that I've grown to love in that world. This frustrates me. I want to be one of your friends that you can call up, and I will listen to whatever you need to get out, or I can help you think through the problem, or I could pray for you right there on the spot, or I could come on over and sit with you with my arms around you so you could have a minute of feeling like you're safe and loved and everything's going to be okay. Unfortunately, I can't do that, but I want you to know that if you need me just pm me and I will help you by that form or e-mails or even by phone. I don't have to be just a 5-0 friend. When I was sick and unable to do anything, I would pray for those of you that have shared physical challenges and life challenges and even if I didn't know the details but just knew that not everything was okay because of different comments you've made... I prayed for you. I'm not sure what your definition of praying is and I'm not trying to force mine on anyone. I realize that everyone worships or believes in their own way. I know that I don't know any of you the way that your family or best friend or co-workers or class mates know you, but I do know that we all open up and accept each other with love and support. I love the respect and friendship that is shown here on a daily basis. I consider you, my ohana, all gifts from the Lord. Whenever I look back on this year, I see how the Lord used you to lift me up and get me through the trials even stronger than I was mentally and emotionally before the trial hit. I don't ever want to take any of you for granted, and if I could ever do the same for you, that would truly be a blessing to me. I have to tell you that I could never get through life without my God and my family, but this year God also gave me friends to help. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Here's a song that says what I'm trying to say much better and in a much more beautiful way... Now, with my Happy New Year wishes to all of you, I would also like to give you a link to this song for this is my prayer for us as a group and for our personal lives.

Hoping that 2012 is a better year for all of us and that we all have a very safe New Year's Eve. DH and I went for a walk today--it was in the mid 60's here in western MO.....really weird weather. Tonight we are nibbling on crackers and cheese and drinking some champagne. We will probably be in bed by 9pm--I'm just wondering when we turned into such lame old people!
Happy New Year to my wonderful Hawaii 5-0 ohana!
