Thanks for the update, Di. Best wishes for your step-dad's dad (step-grandad?) for his upcoming surgery.
Ahhh, your poor little dog. It's good to hear she's doing a bit better, although I'm sure you have your hands full keeping her from frolicking around to0 much. I hope you can work things out for both dogs, that would be a devastating choice to make.
Please take care of yourself, and I wish for you peaceful nights and sweet dreams, as much as possible.

Gosh Diana, a little good mixed in with the bad but still your nervous system remains in overdrive. Encouraging news about your Step Dad's Dad being a candidate for the experimental cardiac valve procedure. Physicians tend to give a prognosis the lower end of estimated success since they don't want to give patients false hope. Wish they had this procedure when my Dad was alive. His heart bypass gave him an extra 12 yrs of life, but he refused the valve replacement surgery because of the thorocotomy(cracks open chest). As it turned out, he lived several more good years until age 84 when the valves began to fail and he finally succumbed to heart failure.
Will be praying for all of you this week in prep of his surgery and your job meeting. As for the dogs, I couldn't put either one down for either of those weak reasons. We have used baby gates to keep our older dogs away from the puppies. walked and fed them separately and while it's a pain to do so, if that's how it has to be in order to have them both, then the increased inconvenience is a better option than euthanizing either one.
Take care, remember deep breaths are calming and sometimes the only way to relieve stress and anxiety when ever you are physically unable to leave the room and/or the situation <3

Dianno, I know you're busy so don't worry about this if you're stressed for your time. I was just wondering how your meeting at work went yesterday. Tonight was my first chance to get on today, but I wanted to tell you that I woke up thinking about you yesterday morning knowing your big meeting was happening.

Tonight was my first chance to get on today, but I wanted to tell you that I woke up thinking about you yesterday morning knowing your big meeting was happening. I was just about to ask the same thing as scarla; as well as wondering how your stepdad's dad's operation went. Hope he has a speedy recovery.

Sorry I haven't update this thread sooner, but things have kind of been crazy around my house as of late. The good and the bad news is that the puppy is completely off her medicine as of this past Friday, so now she is ready to rock and roll and putting me thorough my paces to chase after her so she doesn't do something she shouldn't. My house has become the capital of baby gates in order to keep her segregated from the other dogs and to try to keep her corralled in an area where she can't be doing a lot of jumping when I can't be watching her, but even at that she has still managed to figured out a way to climb over the baby gates to nearly give me a heart attack. So as you can imagine it is like having a toddler in the house. But even with all the craziness she is very much still worth it. As for the meeting they were having at my job, it went about the way I thought it would go, which was just a regurgitation of what had already been said in the local newspaper. The only new thing was the manager saying that he didn't know what impact any of this would have on our division and that he hoped to have more information soon. Honestly, the whole meeting was an hour of my life that I will never get back that I could have been using to actually get work done. Oh well, I still got paid for it, so I can't complain too much. Now for all the people that have been praying and sending thoughts of support towards my step-dad's dad, I really have to thank you as it appears that they have kept some awful from happening. As many of you know he was scheduled to have an experimental procedure to have his aortic valve replaced this past Thursday. Well, everything went according to the plan right up through them putting him asleep and making the incision into his thigh, then for some reason the doctor decided to double check something and thankfully he did, because he found that my step-dad's dad had a blood clot sitting in one of the upper chambers of his heart. If said blood clot hadn't been found and had broke loose he would have most likely had a massive heart attack or stroke from which he probably wouldn't have recovered from. As it stands they were not able to perform the valve replacement, but what they were able to do is to place him on a medicine regime to dissolve the clot and monitor him very closely first in the ICU and then the Cardiac stepdown unit for the last 4 days, to ensure that it didn't break loose and was resolving the way it should. So now he will be on the medicine for the next month at which time they will do another ultrasound of his heart and if that is clear they will put his case before the review board again. Now the good news is that apparently my step-dad's dad is the first patient in which that they have ever found a clot in them before doing this experimental procedure so the doctor believes that his chances are even better to be approved the second time as he will be a unique case that they will be able to learn even more from. As it stands now they have already rescheduled the surgery for April 12th and he actually got sprung from the hospital today. So now we just have to keep a close eye on him to make sure his blood isn't too thin or too thick and start the waiting game over. Once we get closer to the time, I will be asking for more good thoughts and prayers and I will keep everyone updated as events warrant it. But again I thank everyone who has kept my family (human and canine) and myself in your thoughts and prayers, as I have really appreciated it.

Di, I'm so thankful for the update. I'm very happy that your baby girl has recovered so well. She sounds like a spunky one. I'm also thankful that the doctors caught the blood clot in time and that he should still get his needed surgery later. It definitely sounds like everything is working out. I'm assuming that there is no further word on your mother and the treatment that she needs for her kidneys so I'll continue to pray the same for her. I also hope your job and the atmosphere there isn't too stressful.

As for my mother she will have her out patient procedure on Friday March 23. Until then she just have suffer through with it, but the good news is that she has this procedure before and we know that within about 48 hours after she has it she should be totally back to normal and pain free. I will let you know how is goes after she has it.
