So since these writers have been tested and the episodes they wrote in season 1 were better than the ones they are writing now, we are to Ass-ume, that Peter is telling them his "vision" of the episode. Or, they have no idea what to do with the characters.

I still don't get it then. The writers are the same as last year......but the writing is obviously worse than last year. And there is a team of writers so it would be weird if they all lost the writing mojo at the same time.....I am guessing that Mr. Lenkov is injecting himself a bit too much in the writing room? Or he is editing stuff the way he wants regardless of what the outcome is? Last year the core 4 obviously did well with what was given to them to read.......This year Bori was added---- the only difference. So it does boil down to her. But the fact that Alex, Scott, Daniel and Grace are all acting "off" IMHO must mean that they are having a hard time acting with/off of Bori. She seems to have flattened everyone's performance. Does the rest of the cast realize this? Does the crew/director/producers realize this? I am a musician--and I am pretty aware when a performance falls flat, and if you are in an ensemble-especially a small ensemble, if one member of is having an off night it can affect the entire performance. So the question is--will this be fixed.....Lenkov doesn't seem to think there is a problem. We can only hope because I am really missing my show.
I am rambling here--will stop now and keep thinking about this mess.

I'm with you davilarose-----I don't get "it" either. BTW, what musical instrument(s) do you play? Do you play for pleasure or career? Just wondering-- nice to hear about the talents of the members on the forum

Jox--I play the harp and have done so for 40 years. I have 3 college degrees in harp performance (that makes me a harp doctor!!!! heeee ;D) Over the years I have played a ton of weddings, with a bunch of orchestras and do solo and ensemble recitals. Right now though, with the economy being what it is, the wedding business has screeched to a halt. Much cheaper to use a CD or have Aunt Mamie play the piano/organ. I also have 4 students that I teach at my home.

WOW. I love the harp. It's got to be one of the most beautiful (looking and sounding) instruments ever. Congratulations!

Davilarose - It's too bad you can't magically play something soothing for us on Monday nights when things get 'quirky' and our blood pressure rises from Cheeto-overload! Congratulations on your artistic talent! The only thing 'musical' that I can handle is my iPod!

I did not know that the same writers are working for Lenkov in Season 2. The scripts are so poorly written that I never imagined it was the same writing teams. Do the actors have any say in the direction their characters take or do they just say what is written for them? How could the scripts go from great to terrible in one season? I hope that H50 holds on to its ratings. This cast, especially Alex does not deserve to be cancelled. I know it would break his heart to suffer another cancellation of a television series .

Not good news ..... 3rd in the time slot.....not where the show needs to be at this point. Is anybody at CBS taking note of this?? Episode 02-07 – Monday, 10/31/113.0 in the demo (-3% week-to-week change) with 10.6 million; third in the timeslot. Season average: 3.11 in the demo with 10.99 million. Demo average rank: #10 of 20 scripted TV shows on the network (Fall 2011 – Spring 2012). The time to make changes is now...as in ASAP!

Um, I'm a little confused as to how Hawaii Five O is third in the timeslot. Nationally, there are only three shows on in that time slot on broadcast TV, and there is no way the Brian Williams Show over jumped over it.
As for the writing of the show, it is Lenkov's final call as to what makes it to our screens. It always has been, but previously, he did have a few other observers. Last year, he had Kurtzman, the Orci Bros and Carol Barbee looking over his shoulder. Kurtzman and the Orci brothers broke off to try to save Fringe. Barbeee went off to greener pastures. Right now the only one looking over Lenkov's shoulder is Paul Zeb...yeah, I can't spell that one...but he was his co writer for most of the shows that Lenkov wrote and the season premiere.

So perhaps we need one of the Orci brothers to come back and fix things.

We get ours from tvbythenumbers, nielsen direct and tvspoilers, and they still show Hawaii Five O first in the demographic and 2nd in overall viewers for this episode.

Kinda weird.... I guess it is however these web sites want to spin it..... When you add the DVR +7 numbers the ratings change even more..... Who really knows which numbers the CBS folks are taking to heart. I just hope they see a trend and realize they need to make some changes quickly.
