I actually kinda do know which numbers the CBS folks are taking to heart, and its the Live Nielsen numbers, overnights and final overnights.

WOW. I love the harp. It's got to be one of the most beautiful (looking and sounding) instruments ever. Congratulations! Davilarose - It's too bad you can't magically play something soothing for us on Monday nights when things get 'quirky' and our blood pressure rises from Cheeto-overload! Congratulations on your artistic talent! The only thing 'musical' that I can handle is my iPod! beadmeup--Thank you!
It would take an awful lot of harp music to soothe us all---especially since my own bp would be spiking from Cheeto-overload........

Here are the updated ratings numbers for when 7 day DVR viewership is added in. Hawaii Five-0 went from 10,598 million viewers to 14,101 for a gain of 3,503 million viewers or a gain of 33%. CASTLE went from 12,576 million viewers to 15,406 million viewers for a gain of 2,830 million viewers or a gain of 23% As for the 18-49 demo Hawaii Five-0 went from a 3.0 to a 4.1 for a gain of 1.1 or 37%. CASTLE went from a 2.7 to a 3.6 for a gain of 0.9 or 33%. This means that more people are watching Castle live which means they are also watching the commercials versus H50 who are watching it on DVR and fast forwarding through the commercials. It also means that when you add the live viewers plus the DVR viewers for this week more total people watched Castle than H50. Now in H50 in favor a higher percentage of their 14 million total viewers was 18-49 old. So out of three success criteria H50 only won one of the three. Now this doesn't mean that cancellation is imminent , it just means from CBS's perspective that it is doing good, but not the absolutely best it could potentially be doing. (Darksea -- since you are more of an expert in this area than I am, feel free to correct me if I have misspoken. )

You're dead right. The only thing I would add is that while the numbers sound fantastical, they aren't counted. CBS sees the overnights and the live numbers. The DVR numbers actually have a weight placed on them, which is what takes them so long. It really only adds .25 of a viewer to the total. So the 3,000 extras they picked up is actually is closer to 750.
