They count DVD, but they will not factor in OnDemand or Online, once again, ratings are measured on advertising dollars, not by actual people who give a crap.

Wow, epic fail. DVR, not DVD.
Anyhoo...TV Guide's ten greatest moments of the season premieres came out.
Hawaii Five O wasn't on them, but Castle's was number one. Ouch.

Ok, so it's absoulutely ridiculous that Hawaii Five-0 wasn't included in the list. Although the article did list one of my favorite moments from the Criminal Minds premiere: "Calm down, Agent," Senate Cramer demands. Reid fires back: "This is calm, and it's Doctor." I love Reid Sorry, other then that, the article sucks! Honestly, it appears that a lot of these articles are biased towards "Castle" It's infuriating.

Everybody wants Nathan Fillion. I have a problem with him, because my brother in law looks like him, and I just want to smack that smart ass look off of Fillion's face too.

I don't get that. Honestly, Alex O'Loughlin, Scott Cann, & Daniel Dae Kim, have him beat hands down. Just saying, if they want to base it on looks...

I just finished reading the article and then read some of the comments and there were a few people that mentioned Hawaii 5-0 should have made it on that list.....I can honestly say that once they get Castle & Beckett together fans will lose interest because it will become boring ...I have seen some other shows from the past where they wanted the leads together then later the shows got axed because they lost their spark.....

I am noticing a lot of articles that snub H50. I am beginning to wonder is TPTB have a few enemies in the media outlets. It is rare to see anything that isn't printed in Hawaii about H50. Yes, there have been a few, but very few.

You're right, ircam, particularly a particular show runner has had a tendency of ticking off media outlets on occasion. They also have a lead actor who is known to be difficult during interviews. It is very similar to Jericho, where their lead actor, Skeet Ulrich had a reputation for not only being difficult, but for peeing on a reporter. Made publicity for the show really difficult, and it ended up showcased less than its timeslot compeditor.
Add to the fact that Castle is still more popular than H50, as the ratings more than indicate, and are not denying now, and you will find H50 not mentioned at all. H50 needs to generate more buzz.

I was so surprised that the cast wasn't on all the am shows talking about the premiere of season 2. Unless you are on the boards and twitter, etc. There hasn't been alot of hupla about it.

For some strange reason, the CBS PR machine isn't working for them. I noticed that too, where by the second episode of last year, we had the marching band contest, and Alex already on Ellen, and other outlets, right now, the best we have is ET Canada, who is supposedly showcasing at least Alex this week.
I'm wondering if CBS doesn't already suspect that this 5th cast member is going to blow up ugly, and they are trying to keep it on the down low. Generally, they would be touting a new cast member, but now, there's nothing.

True darksea - and they did tout TOQ pretty heavily leading up to the premiere - now nothing.

Previous to the premiere, there was a Hawaii Five O advertisment (the one with TOQ) every hour during prime time, and an average of 5 times during the daytime hours, in some markets.
Since monday, the Episode 2 promos have aired a grand total of 12 times at least in the New Mexico broadcast area. 12 times, total. The extended promo with more Lori...hasn't aired at all here. (Our affiliate, gives me air slot times. Because I'm special.)

What also helps Castle is that ABC has really maximize the show presence on the social media. In that most the cast including Nathan Fillion who plays Castle and Stana Katic who plays Beckett have twitter account that they post regularly to. (And, just for the record Stana has never twittered about her FUPA or about safe sex, but given that she speaks 5 languages and her hobbies include archeology and astrophysics, I highly doubt those things are high on Stana's priority list. )They have the Nikki Heat books that get released in conjunction with the premiere of the new season that been on the NY Times best seller list. The have also set up Twitter and Facebook accounts and a website for "Richard Castle the author" in which they post ditties about what Richard Castle is currently writing for the Nikki Heat Book. Over the summer they will release a post one of the initial chapters from the upcoming Nikki Heat book, every few weeks to wet everyone's appetite. Then the also have one the character's Det. Ryan write a blog about his perspective of what has occurred in the previous episode, on which fans can reply back to him about.
