ahhhh Canada i love thee right now pity we won't find out the numbers for the uk and ireland. because that won't happen until January at the latest. and to be honest people having the advantage of being able to download the show. so that might not help. i think it wouldn't be a bad move to move to tuesday night, ncis have 20 million and ncis la close behind viewer nearly every tuesday, might help, although wouldn't panic yet ether folks, it's only the first episode, give it time for every thing to settle. I have always thought that it would be good to show it after the ncis's but I suppose they have their reasons. As you say sunny hopefully it will settle down and this great show will get the ratings it deserves. I got quite upset when the ratings came out, that episode deserved better than that .

H5O has always done really well in Canada, as far as I can remember. Question for the experts: how much does CBS really care about non-USA viewers? I think we don't get the same ads shown as you, so presumably American companies buying ad time won't give a hoot that lots of Canucks are watching.
I, too, was a bit shocked by the low ratings. I would have thought that the 10 million or so folks who saw the cliffhangers last May would at least have wanted to tune in to see the resolution. Makes me nervous for next week, since it seems like there's commonly a drop-off from the season premiere.
How many eps do they need for the syndication deal?

I seem to remember it being around the 64 episode mark but I could be wrong

I think it's higher than 64 episodes. I don't know why the number 100 comes to mind. I'm thinking about The Mentalist which is in syndication on TNT. That's going into its 5th season, so 24 episodes x 4 (because the episodes started airing before the 5th season) = 96.
I used to be able to recall the number, but it's been awhile. ;D

At the end of season 3 they will only be at 71 or 72 episodes depending if you count the NCIS cross over episode.

Here's a bit more of the details of the syndication deal for H50 that was signed with TNT. Originally posted by Five-0 Undercover 4/14/11
CBS Television Distribution has sold rookie drama Hawaii Five-0 to cable net TNT. The market for the show was opened by a preemptive bid by an unidentified cable network, which immediately set prices at $2-plus million per episode. In the end, Hawaii Five-0 sold in the mid-$2 million range, on par with what two of the last big dramas – Warner Bros’ The Mentalist and CBS’ NCIS: Los Angeles – each received. The off-net deal begins on TNT in fall 2014. The deal also includes digital rights so that TNT can provide the show on demand and online to its subscribers via Time Warner’s TV Everywhere initiative. What does this mean? Hawaii Five-0 is not leaving CBS, and we’ll continue to see new episodes on that network. TNT bought the syndication rights to show repeat episodes and have exclusive rights to show Five-0 on demand to cable subscribers. The deal begins in 2014, because theoretically by that time, CBS will have produced a hundred episodes of the show. That’s the magic number that networks look at before sending a show off to another network for syndication. This however, does not automatically guarantee the show for another three seasons (as much as we want it to), but it would be in CBS’s best interest for the continued success of the show in order to cash in on TNT’s huge offer. Once a series makes it through its fourth season (usually around the 88 episode mark), it then becomes viable for syndication, giving the networks get a chance to earn back a decent chunk of their investment.
So bascially for every ep of H50 that gets made, CBS is guaranteed a payment of $2 million plus based on the deal with TNT. That's a significant motivation to keep it going at least to the 88 ep mark, I would think.

I'm hoping a lot here, okay?!

This may have been said earlier in this post, but I will say it again.
Revolution is a new, somewhat intense show and it would appeal to an audience. H5O is into it's 3rd season and it is somewhat expected to drop numbers, however not that low of course.
I will continue to watch H5O as it is one of my favorites. Maybe we should do a Tweet-up on it's night to get it trending, TPTB do look at that. Do more chatting about the show on FB and Twitter to bring people back? Just some suggestions.
As others have said, some viewers may have been put off by last season and have not been willing to come back to the fold. Let's herd them back into the corral, what do you say?

Last Monday was Revolution's second airing -- apparently it's ratings were down from the premiere. I can't remember where I saw that; I'll have to see if I can find it again. I watched both episodes (on DVR) and started to get a little bored with it, so maybe it won't have any lasting power.

It's on a lot of places that Revolution was down this week from the premier, inclusing the CNN Entertainment site. Here's hoping H50 picks up! Fiona

The more I think about the helicopter scene the more frustrated I get. I really liked this show and I want to like it again.

The season 3 premiere episode will air again Saturday at 9EST according to Peter. They are trying to bring the viewers back. I think there was just too many shows premiering the same week and its TV viewer overload..

I think there was just too many shows premiering the same week and its TV viewer overload.. Totally agree, ircam. I think the fact that CBS is giving the S3 premiere another viewing in the same week (that was not originally planned) actually indicates that they have not given up yet and want to give the show another chance to regain their viewers from last season - or even just the chance that the viewers that watched ep 223 come back to see how things worked out. Let's hope it works or at least improves the dire ratings situation.

If the rating fail CBS, that means Lenkov did a really bad job on the episode. Your suppose to fire him. I don't think this move will work.
