Long, drawn out "sigh". I'm going to reserve my comments until next season.

Wow. I don't mind Broth but I do hope she won't be pushed to our face. I hope they bring in more rebooted version of the original characters. Like, hey where is John Manicote, Kimo, Truck. Frank, or Ben?

Found this article on Hawaiifive0online.net. I think many of us saw this plot line coming when MB's new status on the show was announced. hawaiifive0online.net/ The good news for “Hawaii Five-0″ fans is that Michelle Borth will be a full-time part of the show next season. The bad news is that her character, Catherine Rollins, and McGarrett (Alex O’Loughlin) may be headed for some rough sailing in their relationship.
Showrunner Peter Lenkov says Catherine will join the Five-0 team next season, which means that her active duty in the Navy is likely at an end. Lenkov declined in an interview to say how she joins the squad, only that her addition “is very organic” to the show.
On the downside, though, McGarrett and Catherine may not handle that much togetherness all that well. In the five episodes Borth has appeared in previously, Catherine and McGarrett seemed pretty content together — but that could be partly because they don’t see one another very often, since she’s usually at sea.
Continuing their relationship is “going to prove to be difficult,” Lenkov says. “When she originally joins [the team], they are still dating, but it’s going to be difficult — just like any relationship is with .”
That’s next season, though. As for the rest of this season, Lenkov promises a “jaw-dropping” finale, which we’ll have more to say about after Monday night’s (May 7) Wo Fat-intensive episode. Check back after the 10 p.m. ET airing for more.

"Peter Lenkov says Catherine will join the Five-0 team next season". Oh. no here we go again. Why can't he leave the core 4 alone. It will be even worse with her and McGarrett squabbling. I know I'm not liking this.

I think our original core 4 is probably going to be losing a member in the finale--my gut is telling me Kono is going to bite the dust and that is why Catherine is joining the team.
THIS IS JUST MY OPINION.
But then I could be wrong....PL really wants a 5th member.....I just hope it isn't as F**ked up as this year when LG was added to the team.

I agree davilarose. I'm guessing something happens with Kono and tada, here we go again. Lose the woman to gain a woman and then Kono comes back when healed or whatever. I just don't get the fixation of the 5th member. Been there, done that -total failure. Sure sounds like a soap opera again. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

If this is true, I am really, really disappointed. I wanted Catherine to remain in the navy, have her own life but still be seen and needed every now and then by the team. If he is making her part of the team I think it would really ruin the relationship between Steve and Catherine which is what I like. What is wrong with PL? Doesn't he ever learn? I can't believe he is going to do this again. Why ruin a good relationship? Please TPTB - make PL change his mind. Keep Catherine the way she is. I was so looking forward to Season 3 but now I am getting a bad feeling.

I am so happy that Catherine is now a series regular but why can't she support 5-0 through naval intelligence? We don't need a 5th member of the team. If Kono dies next week, then I understand about bringing Catherine on board. Did anyone hear if Kono wants to exit the show? Is she being offered her own show? I am a little worried about Season 3. I thought watching television is supposed to be relaxing... I am finding just the opposite with these scripts.

Okay, is it just me or does anyone else feel like they are in the Twilight Zone??? Been there, done that. Only this time it will be 10 times worse because we will have them become the bickerson's, then break up, only for Lenkov to have Lori return so Steve can jump her bones while she prances around Catherine like a dog who found a bone and is marking their territory. Ugh, so not looking forward to this. The only saving grace is that at least Michelle Borth can act, unlike the other situation.
Oh, and for those of you who got your noses out of joint about some us not wanting Catherine to be made a regular, this exactly what we were trying to warn you were going to happen, but you didn't want to hear it. You wanted to live your happy little place where Lenkov couldn't have possibly destroy Steve and Catherine's relationship or assassinate Catherine as a character well he most certainly can and it appear that he is going to. But hey, what do any us know.

But hey, what do any us know. Totally agree, sure sounds like my fears are being realized. Soap opera territory - making up, breaking up and taking the focus away from the team. Probably make Catherine either a poor damsel in distress or some kind of b. I don't want the show to become romance central. Same fears for Danny. Hopefully not more Rachel-Danny drama. I just want the action show I loved in season 1, focused on the team and the bromance. Doesn't sound like that's going to happen.

Staying in the Navy would be great but sometimes in life you take different directions. Also, something to think about: the US Enterprise is being decomisioned this year. It would be great Peter Lenkov mentioned this in next season.
I guess watching too much NCIS (the orginial) that I remember rule #8. I am looking forward to the surprise of next season.

I had heard about the Enterprise being decommissioned in real life and thought they would use that on the show and have Catherine stationed at Pearl....this is going to be weird if they ram her up our noses the way they did with Lori in Season 2 Episode 2.

I don't mind Catherine being a regular--but to add her to the team and then having H 5-0 become a soap. Just what the F**k does Lenkov want?
