Baseball, American football and hockey. Love them all pretty equally, though baseball probably is tops if I had to pick. I'll watch basketball, but usually only college. Any particular team? Boston Red Sox. I love all the Boston teams . What about you?

I used to play volleyball, and I really love it. I was a setter. Correct me if I'm wrong, but... isn't the American male team the Olympic Champion?

I knew there was a sports thread here somewhere.
Just had to say "Congrats!" to the Oregon Ducks for winning the Rose Bowl tonight.
We have friends who are on staff at the University of Oregon and friends who's kids attend there, some even on the team, so we are very happy and excited for them.
Go Ducks! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Ah Runner, there it is, the secret behind your new avatar. Congratulations! Oh yeah. Phil Knight, owner/founder of Nike went to the Uof O and always does all their uniforms. This one special for the Rose Bowl, of course. When the players put their hands to together, their gloves make an O. I'll be back to my HF-0 avatar as soon as my feet touch the ground again.

Figure skating and tennis. I'll watch hockey and curling sometimes too.
And I watch the Olympics constantly, when they're on.

Right now, Evan! All-time, Kurt Browning. Girl, Michelle Kwan. Special place in my heart, Alexei Yagudin, Gordeeva (not because they're together). Pairs, Davis & White.

Gordeeva is actually with Kulik. I liked Yagudin as well. Favourites right now are Patrick Chan, Daisuke Takahashi, Davis/White and Virtue/Moir. All time would be: Browning, Orser, Underhill/Martini, Sale/Pelletier, Kristi Yamaguchi, Wilson/McCall, Bourne/Kraatz

Oh geez, right, I always did get Yagudin and Kulik mixed up when I wasn't looking at them! They're kindred spirits in my eyes. And Kulik I loved him especially for a jump he did with both knees up, I'd been wanting somebody to do that forever.
Chan's awfully good but I haven't been blown away by him yet. Takahashi, almost there. Ditto any of the current women. Orser, well, him I admire for his ability to hang in the air and come down like he had all the time in the world to get it right, that was beautiful, but emotionally he didn't move me much.
But Browning! Oh, Kurt Browning! Holy Moses, the man isn't even on ice, he isn't even wearing skates, he's just dancing. Magnificent. It always frustrated me when he was competing as an amateur, especially at the Olympics, because he couldn't be himself - had to wear the frou-frou spangly outfits and play-act, and he'd always lose. But afterward, wow!
Do you get to see the Grand Prix competitions? I love having this new sports station that we started getting since the switch to HD TV, and they run Olympic sports, including gymnastics. I've been having a great time watching. Before that it was few and far between on TV. Now I can look forward to the Olympics, knowing who to root for.

CBC is pretty good about showing coverage of all Grand Prix events. CTV covers our Nationals and the World Championships. I can catch US Nationals on NBC. I'm pretty spoiled for skating on TV.
