Wow! They just said Andy Murray is the first Brit to win the Open in 76 years! That's pretty cool, coming on the heels of the Olympics. Congratulations, gbird and all you guys over there!

thank god. i watched the first set, amazing, but i was shattered so went off to bed. but i'm thrilled for him. monkey off his back!!!

as an avid golf fan myself, i was rather emotional myself. it was a day worthy of seve.
on the many golfing threads that i've seen around, people are giving out about rory and how he nearly missed his tee time because he got time zones mixed up.

It was just one of those things , it all turned out okay in the end , I am sure he wont make that mistake again

I'm not a golf fan at all but I always get sucked in by the Ryder Cup This year was absolutely amazing.....I watched the last couple of singles matches and my nerves were shot by the end! Incredible victory by Europe Fiona

I dont usually watch much horse racing on TV but I sat and watched Frankles last race on Saturday. What a majestic animal. I would have loved to have been at Ascot to hear the roar of the crowds .
